Jim Cooper is Business Week’s senior editor and ‘Business Outlook’ columnist. His weekly column comments on the latest economic news and the forecast for the economy and the financial markets. Jim joined Business Week in 1980, prior to which he was an economist in the forest products industry performing market analysis and forecasting. A native of North Carolina, he holds B.S and M.A. degrees in economics from North Carolina State University. Jim lives with his wife and son in Westport, CT.
